Audio Note: The Urge to Start From Scratch
Wiping the slate clean when what we really need is to dig down and see it though.
Usually, the urge to wipe the slate clean comes when we’ve hit our growth edge. When we are sitting in the often intense discomfort of the threshold between our old life and our new one.
This is the place where other things start to look a little shiner. Where instead of digging in and committing to moving through what scares us, we abandon ship and start the exciting process of being in the beginning phase again. The dreaming phase.
It is much easier to dream and live in an imaginary land where we can control everything, than it is to land in this human experience and meet the edges our dreams will inevitably require us to meet.
This Audio Note came through as I was sitting at my desk and had a quick flash of the urge to start from scratch. One I no longer give the credence to that I used to. These days, there is something so delicious I find about committing and seeing things through. About going slow and steady and sinking fully into the experience. Instead of being in a perpetual state of “someday” or stuck in the dreamy space between.
I hope you enjoy this cozy little Audio Note brought to you right from my desk, at the cottage in the woods, on a gray moody West Coast day.
